New Music Monday: “The Fighter”

Stock photo: Envato Elements

War veterans often face a difficult battle with their emotions after returning home from combat. The trauma and stress of war can leave lasting scars on their mental health, causing them to struggle with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Many veterans feel isolated and misunderstood, as their experiences are often difficult for others to comprehend. It is important for us as a society to recognize and support our veterans to help them overcome what they are battling within.

“The Fighter” is a song that reminds everyone who’s ever fought a battle on the outside and survived in service to our country, that they have everything they need to be just as fierce of a fighter for the battles going on inside of them. Written with a veteran at Alvin C. York Veterans' Administration Medical Center with songwriter Jamie Floyd.
